HPW Open Houses | Thanksgiving Weekend

HPW Open Houses November 24-25Are you out and about chasing down the best Black Friday deals in town? Scoring holiday gifts for your loved ones and friends (and yourself) will be a fantastic feat, but imagine the joy of finding your new home will bring.

You may have heard that spring and summer are the time to buy, but there are many reasons you should consider house hunting during the cold winter months.

Buying A Home During The Winter Months

Less Competition

It's common for buyer-competition to thin out in the winter as many people prefer to house hunt during the warmer seasons when the school year is waning.

More Motivated Sellers

Winter home sellers are often more motivated to close a deal than those selling during the peak season. They may be relocating for a job promotion, hoping to get a sale squared away before the new year, or simply ready to get their real estate journey underway.

Discover And Uncover

Winter weather can tax a home. From the roof and gutters to the HVAC, plumbing and drafty doors, cold temperatures may reveal issues that you would otherwise have overlooked in warmer months.

Start Your Search

Let our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate agents help you find the home you seek. Our listing agents will be happy to host you at their open houses this Saturday and Sunday.

Turkeys for the Triangle Donates 2,500 Thanksgiving Turkeys

Our first Turkeys for the Triangle distribution event was a tremendous success!

Box trucks, cargo vans, pickup trucks and SUVs lined up at our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston corporate office to collect and deliver more than 2,500 frozen turkeys to nonprofit and military organizations across Central North Carolina.

Despite the rain and cold temperatures, it was a great day to Help People Win, a commitment our company founder and chairman and Turkeys for the Triangle founder holds near and dear.

"I'll tell you what, it's one of those things," said Don Walston. "It's hard to describe the benefit when you see someone who really appreciates what you're doing for them– it's a– I don't know how to describe it but it's a warm feeling."

A five-year partner of our Turkeys for the Triangle program, Butterball generously donated 1,500 of the 2,500 turkeys we handed out this week.

Turkeys for the Triangle will match its record-breaking donation of last year's 4,500 turkeys to nourish those in need this holiday season.

Stephanie Ellis Joins Our HPW Clayton Office

We are proud to announce the hire of Real Estate Broker Stephanie Ellis. A top-producing Realtor, Ellis has joined our Clayton Office to support her clients better.

"I cannot express enough how thrilled and excited we are to have Stephanie Ellis as part of our HPW Family here at the Clayton Office," said Teresa Blasi sales manager and broker-in-charge of the Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston Clayton Office. "Stephanie is an amazing agent and we are so blessed to have her continue the journey of building our footprint in the Johnston County Market!"

Upon meeting the Clayton team, Ellis was ready to join in on the fun and become a part of the HPW family. "I am excited to join the Clayton Office because I love the people that work there and the opportunity to rejoin the office in the Flowers Plantation area," said Ellis.

Ellis obtained her real estate broker license in 2015 and has loved it ever since. One of her favorite parts of her jobs is meeting and getting to know people on a personal level. "I love to see buyers reactions when they finally walk into their new home," said Ellis.

Born and raised in Raleigh, Ellis is a native North Carolinian. Currently, she lives in Benson, NC, and loves the small town feel. "I love living in Benson because it is peaceful and quiet but still close to civilization," said Ellis.

Ellis' favorite hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, cooking, playing softball and volleyball. She is also involved with giving back to our community and helping to make a difference. "I give 5% of all my commission for one year to the Ronald McDonald House because of the support they gave my family during a very hard time in our lives," said Ellis. "In May 2019 a new charity will be voted on by my friends and family on Facebook to support for the upcoming year."

We are excited to have you on board, Stephanie! Welcome to the HPW Family!

Taylor Howington Joins Our HPW Fuquay-Varina Office

Taylor Howington

We are proud to announce the hire of Real Estate Broker Taylor Howington. A top-producing Realtor, Howington has joined our Fuquay-Varina Office to support her clients better.

"Taylor is an exceptionally talented Real Estate agent that has a command of both the Sanford and Triangle markets," said Amy Rogers, broker-in-charge of our HPW Fuquay-Varina Office. "She is a part of our Fuquay-Varina office expansion. We have created a marketing and training center in Fuquay-Varina that will provide extraordinary training and support to experienced agents like Taylor who live in our expansion area. Her clients are served by both Fayetteville and Triangle MLS memberships. Taylor's enthusiasm and charm are a perfect addition to our HPW Fuquay Family!"

With more than 30 agents and staff members in our Fuquay-Varina office, Howington was impressed with the close-knit setting and the sense of family she felt upon meeting the team. "I am excited to join the HPW Fuquay-Varina Office because I love the family dynamic in the office," said Howington. "I quickly felt like a part of the team and welcomed. I am also thankful to be with a firm that is supportive and is as excited as I am to grow towards the Sanford area."

One of her favorite parts of her jobs is meeting and getting to know people on a personal level. "I enjoy watching my clients light up when we have found their perfect home," said Howington. "I love that as Realtors, we have the opportunity to help other people and make a difference in their experience."

Born and raised in Sanford, North Carolina, Howington and her husband adore their close-knit community. "I have really enjoyed watching our small community grow and am excited to see where it can go," said Howington. "We are perfectly located close to Raleigh, Pinehurst, Fayetteville as well as the beach and the mountains."

Howington's favorite hobbies consist of traveling, crafting and playing with our fur-baby, Ryleigh." My husband and I are very blessed to have a close-knit group of family and friends that we enjoy spending our downtime with," said Howington.

We are excited to have you on board, Taylor! Welcome to the HPW Family!
